A pinch and a punch for the 1st of the shortest, and hopefully hottest month. We’re welcoming February with open arms here in the office (we’re even debating purchasing an ‘Instachill Cooler’ in anticipation of some freak Wellington heat – it’s all dreams around here). With the start of February, comes the excitement of the end of the financial year. We’re officially 59 days out from 31 March, and the team are preparing to ascend into ‘Hustler Mode’.
With that, it’s GST return time again. It would be great if you could make our job easier and jump onto Xero and get all bank accounts reconciled up until 31 January. Please have this done by Thursday 4th February. We’re expecting February to be all go around the office, so it would be ace if you could get your Xero account into tip-top shape sooner, rather than later. As always, any questions, queries or concerns about reconciling, or if you just need someone to hold you accountable to getting it done – give us a bell.
February also marks the start of Xero Education Month. Bonus – the Education Month content is available to everyone this year, regardless of whether you hold a Xero account! Building on last year, the team at Xero are running online webinars on a range of topics from a range of external and internal professionals, all with the aim of supporting learning for small businesses. The webinars are created with inclusivity in mind and aren’t specific to a certain industry – so, whether you’re a one-man band, or in a team big enough to fill a bus, you’re bound to find something that sparks your interest. We’ve jotted down our business owner ‘must see’s’ throughout Xero Education Month.
There’s plenty more to stick your teeth into– have a flick through here and register for the events that tickle your fancy. If you’re umm-ing and ahh-ing about registering, remember, you can’t improve business until you open yourself up to learning. We know it’s difficult to step off the tools when there’s 101 things to do, but it’s so important for you to set aside time to work on the business. You never know what ideas it might spark!
