2018 has kicked off hot and heavy, with ice cream no doubt a great business to be in. We hope you enjoyed a good break and spent quality time with people, in places, that make you fizz.

Business goals

Before the break, we gave you three things to think about and jot down answers to:

1. What were my business goals before I started out?
2. If I could change three things in my business right now, what would those things be?
3. What will I do differently in 2018?

So let’s hear them?! Get on the blower, or email, or ride on in to our office, bail up your Outside go-to and voice the goals. Make yourself accountable, and as Gandhi said – be the change! We look forward to it!

Reconcile your Xero

Also, please have your Xero reconciled by Friday the 2nd.

Xero Business Tip – Projects

Xero has rolled out a wee addition called “Projects”. It’s another step to Xero becoming the one-stop-shop for everything numbers in your small business.

‘Projects’ is great for the small business who wants to know how much time and money has been spent on each job on their plate. It makes part-payments and deposits a lot easier and gives owners and managers a project-by-project profit analysis tool. All in all, another opportunity to learn and improve the profitability drive in your business. Check out more here https://www.xero.com/nz/features-and-tools/accounting-software/projects/ and let us know if you’re keen to give it a go.

Productivity

It’s the start of the year and you’re likely primed and ready to take on the world. Usually the to-do list gets a bit grey as the year goes on and things start getting pushed. They’re not new and flashy and they’re not expensive; most of the checklist apps today are free and bloody good at what they do.

Some suggestions

Checklists are powerful for you as a business owner and personally, first by ordering your thoughts and focuses, and then by ensuring you don’t forget something that might make a big difference later on.
Try something like Trello or Todoist and see if it makes a difference in getting you where you want to go.
