A little note on the silly season!

Tomorrow kicks off December and so the Christmas season hits with full force – go on, get excited! We hope you managed to get through the recent shakes, slips and floods without too much damage? We were all good here, and it even allowed us to put ‘the cloud’ to the test with the team working remotely for a couple of days. Like you, we’re getting geared up for a bit of a mad rush into the end of the year and to make it smooth for all. We would rate you a 10 out of 10 if you could please have Xero reconciled up to date by Monday the 5th of December. Helpful hint: If you’re struggling with reconciling, you can use the Xero search feature to access the learning centre. If you’re still stuck, get in contact with us and we can sort ya!

Xero search

As easy as Xero is to drive, sometimes it catches us out and leaves us staring blank faced at the screen. You know what you want, but have no idea where to start. Maybe you’ve got a number, maybe that’s an amount, or a phone number, or even a bank account number. Perhaps even no number at all, maybe a name, or address.

Regardless of the information you have got, you want more. The easiest way to find more is using the Xero search feature. No matter how limited your information, or how lost you may feel, chances are you’ll find your way. It’s easy to find on every screen – the magnifying glass up the top right. Give it a whirl next time you’re stuck!

The statistics

Statutory holidays can be a right pain in the arse for an employer in terms of figuring out who is supposed to get paid what. HR can be a bit of a grey area where, as an employer, it’s safer to apply rules at the soft and slow end of hard and fast. With Christmas Day and New Years Day both falling on Sunday’s, “Mondayisation” comes into play for some of you. Meaning the public holiday may be moved to the following Tuesday.
