How bloody good were those All Blacks? “Pretty bloody good” if you ask your average Kiwi bloke, just add a few more expletives if you asked at 6:30am on Sunday morning. What a way to wake up and it was awesome to see how the guts of a proud wee country at the end of the earth sweated and celebrated together.

A bit on your bank balance

To segway to something remotely financial… did you know the bonus received by each All Blacks player for winning the Rugby World Cup was $150k? Not too shabby! Your bank balance is always best backing black too; stay out of the red with these couple of tips:

– If you’re getting to a crunch, a free way of bridging the gap is with a credit card. Make sure you repay in full before the due date, it’ll likely bear no cost and you could even earn rewards. Watch for any credit card or cash advance fees.

– Call in your debtors! Sometimes you no doubt think you should have more in the bank than you do. Have a look at your aged receivables in Xero and send out a statement to remind any late payers. Even better would be getting paid on the spot – BNZ has rolled out a nifty gadget called PayClip which means you can get paid with EFTPOS, MasterCard and Visa wherever you are. – Lastly, make no mistake, IRD is the most expensive ‘bank’ to owe money to, so please avoid that one!
